1:1 In the beginning1 was the word (dabar, memra), and the word (dabar, memra) was with Elohim, and Elohim was the word (dabar, memra).

1:2 This word (dabar, memra) was in the beginning with Elohim.

1:3 Everything came to be through it, and apart from it nothing came to be2.

1:4 That which came to be in it was life. And this life was the light of mankind.

1:5 And the lamp does shine in the gloom; but the gloom and darkness do not have power over it.

1:6 There was a man sent from Elohim; his name was Yochanan.

1:7 This one came for a witness, in order to give witness from afar.

1:8 He was not that Lamp, but that he might witness concerning the Lamp.

1:9 He is truly a lamp; and He shines on every man in this world.

1:10 He is eternal; and the world was made by Him 3, but the world did not recognize Him,.

1:11 neither the power of His words, even those who do not receive Him.

1:12 Only to all of them who receive him, he gives ability, that they be made sons of Elohim – those who believe in His name4.

1:13 Who neither by blood nor by the will of the flesh nor by the will of a man, but was born of the will of Elohim5.

1:14 And so the word was made flesh and dwelt among you6, and we have seen his glory—the glory as the only begotten son from the Father, full of grace and truth

1:15 Yochanan did witness of him and cried out, saying, This was the one about whom I said, ‘He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was superior to me.'

1:16 And by His completeness all of us have obtained grace; and by Him is the grace.

1:17 For the Torah was given through Mosheh, truly grace and truth came through Yehoshua Messiah7.

1:18 No one has seen Elohim at any time; the only unique son, who is in the bosom of the Father, he has explained Him8.

1:19 This is His scroll, and this is the witness of Yochanan, when the Yehudim sent priests and Levites that they might ask him, Who are you?

1:20 And he confessed and did not deny; yea, he acknowledged, I am not the Messiah.

1:21 And they asked him, What, then? Are you Elijah? And he said, I am not. Are you the Prophet9? And he answered, No.

1:22 Then they said to him, Who are you, that we may give an answer to those sending us? What do you say about yourself?

1:23 He said, "I am a voice crying in the wilderness: Make straight the way of Yehovah," as Yesha'yahu the prophet said. (Isa. 40:3)

1:24 And those who had been sent were of the Perushim.

1:25 And they asked him and said to him, Why then do you immerse, if you are not the Messiah, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?

1:26 Yochanan answered them, saying, I immerse in water, however, He whom you do not recognize abides among you.

1:27 This One it is who has come after me, who has existed before me10, of whom I am not worthy that I should loosen the strap of His sandal.

1:28 These things took place in Bethabara at the crossing of the Jordan, where Yochanan was immersing.

1:29 On the morrow, Yochanan saw Yehoshua coming toward him and said, Look! this is the lamb of Elohim11, who takes away the iniquities from the world!

1:30 his is he about whom I said, ‘After me comes a man who has surpassed me, for he is my superior.12

1:31 And I did not recognize him, but in order that He should be published in Yisrael. Because of this, I have come that I might immerse with water.

1:32 And Yochanan witnessed, saying, I have seen the ruach coming down as a dove13 out of Heaven, and remaining upon Him.

1:33 Truly, He who sent me that I should immerse with water, He said to me, He upon whom you will see the sprirt descending, and remaining upon him, this is he who immerses in the set apart ruach.

1:34 And I have seen and have witnessed that this One is the son of Elohim.

1:35 Again on another day, Yochanan and two from his talmidim stood.

1:36 And looking at Yehoshua walking, he said, Look, the Messenger of Elohim!

1:37 And the two talmidim heard him speaking, and they followed Yehoshua.

1:38 Then Yehoshua, turning himself around and seeing them following after Him,

1:39 said to them, Come and see. They went and saw where He stayed, and they remained with Him that day. And the hour was about the tenth.

1:40 Andrew the brother of Simon Keipha was one of the two who heard from Yochanan and was following Him.

1:41 This one first found his own brother Simon and tells him, We have found the Messiah14.

1:42 And he led him to Yehoshua. And looking at him, Yehoshua said, You are Simon the son of Yonah; you shall be called Kepha (which translated is rock).

1:43 And on the morrow, Yehoshua desired to go out into Gelilah. And He found Philip, and says to him, Follow Me!

1:44 And Philip was from Bethsaida15, of the city of Andrew and Keipha.

1:45 Philip finds Nathaniel and said to him, We have found the One of whom Mosheh wrote in the Torah and the Prophets, Yehoshua the son of Yoseph, from Netzeret.

1:46 And Nathaniel said to him, Can any good thing be out of Netzeret? Philip said to him, Come and see.

1:47 Yehoshua saw Nathaniel coming toward Him and said concerning him, Look, truly an Israelite in whom is no deception!

1:48 Nathaniel said to Him, How do you recognize me?, Yehoshua answered and said to him, Before Philip called, you being under the fig tree, I saw you.

1:49 Nathaniel answered and said to Him, Rabbi, You are the son of Elohim; You are the King of Yisrael.

1:50 Yehoshua answered and said to him, Because I said to you I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You will see greater things than these.

1:51 And He says to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, From now on you will see Heaven opened, and "The messengers of Elohim ascending and descending" on the son of Elohim. (Gen. 28:12)

← Yochanan

2:1 And on the third day a marriage took place in Cana of Gelilah, and Miryam the mother of Yehoshua was there.

2:2 And Yehoshua and His talmidim also were invited to the marriage.

2:3 And being short of wine, the mother of Yehoshua said to Him, They have no wine16.

2:4 Yehoshua said to her, What do you want from Me to you, woman? My hour has not yet come.

2:5 His mother said to the servants, Whatever He says to you, do.

2:6 Now there were six water jars of stone there, being placed according to the custom of the cleansing of the Yehudim; and every one of the water jars holds two or three measures.17.

2:7 Yehoshua said to them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them to the top.

2:8 And He said to them, Now draw out and take it to the master of the feast. And they took it.

2:9 But when the master of the feast tasted the water that had become wine, and did not know from where it was (but the servants drawing the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom,

2:10 and he said to him, Every man first sets on the good wine, and when they have drunk freely, then the inferior one. You have kept the good wine until now.

2:11 This beginning of the miraculous signs Yehoshua did in Cana of Gelilah18. And it revealed His glory, and His talmidim believed into Him.

2:12 After this He went down to Capernaum, He and His mother and His brothers and His talmidim. And He remained there a few days.

2:13 And the Pesach of the Yehudim was near. And Yehoshua went up to Yerushalayim19.

2:14 And He found those selling oxen and sheep and doves in the sanctuary, and the money changers sitting.

2:15 And making a whip out of ropes, He threw all out of the sanctuary, both the sheep, and the oxen, and the money changers, pouring out the money and overturning the tables.

2:16 And to the ones selling the doves, He said, Take these things from here! And do not make the house of my Father a house of merchandise!20

2:17 And His talmidim remembered that it was written, "The zeal of Your house has consumed Me." (Psa. 69:9)

2:18 Then the Yehudim answered and said to Him, What sign do You show to us, since You do these things?

2:19 Yehoshua said to them, tear down this sanctuary, and in three days I will raise it up.

2:20 Then the Yehudim said, This sanctuary was forty six years being built, and do You raise it up in three days?

2:21 But He spoke about the sanctuary of His body.

2:22 Then when He was raised from the dead, His disciples recalled that He said this to them. And they believed the Scripture, even the Word that Yehoshua spoke.

2:23 And as He was in Yerushalayim, at the Pesach, at the Feast, many believed into His name, seeing the miracles which He did.

2:24 But Yehoshua did not entrust Himself to them, because He understood every man.

2:25 And He did not rely on men to testify to Him concerning anyone, for He knew what was in man.

← Yochanan

3:1 But there was a man from the Perushim, Nicodemus his name, a ruler of the Yehudim.

3:2 This one came to Yehoshua by night and said to Him, Rabbi, we know that You have come as a teacher from Elohim. For no one is able to do these miraculous signs which You do, except Elohim be with Him21.

3:3 Yehoshua answered and said to him, Truth I say to you, that if a man is not born again, he is not able to see the Kingdom of Elohim22.

3:4 Nicodemus said to Him, "How is it possible to enter the womb of his mother the second time and be born?"

3:5 Yehoshua answered, Truly, truly I say to you, that if a man is not born from water and ruach, he is not able to enter into the kingdom of Elohim.

3:6 The thing, which is born from flesh, is flesh, and the thing, which is born from ruach, is ruach23.

3:7 Do not wonder because I said to you, You must be born from above.

3:8 The wind will blow where it desires, and you hear its voice. But you do not know from where it comes or to where it goes. Likewise is everyone who is born from ruach24.

3:9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, How are these things able to occur?

3:10 Yehoshua answered and said to him, You are the teacher of Yisrael, and you do not know these things?

3:11 Truth I say to you that we speak what we know, and we do witness of what we have seen; but you do not accept our witnesses.

3:12 If I tell you worldly things and you do not believe them, how will you believe the heavenly things, if I tell you of them?

3:13 And no one has gone up into Heaven, except He having come down out of Heaven, The son of man.25.

3:14 And even as Mosheh lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the son of Elohim be lifted up,

3:15 that everyone believing into Him should not be destroyed, but have everlasting life.

3:16 For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that everyone believing into Him should not perish, but have everlasting life26.

3:17 For Elohim did not send His son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

3:18 The one believing into Him is not condemned; but the one not believing has already been condemned, for he has not believed into the name of the only begotten son of Elohim27.

3:19 And this is the appearance of the heart: the lamp came to the world, but the men love darkness and gloom more than the lamp, for their deeds are evil.

3:20 For every man who does the evil, curses the lamp; and he is not in the light, so that he will not be caught in his deeds.

3:21 But the one doing the truth comes to the Lamp, that his deeds may be revealed, that they exist, having been worked in Elohim.

3:22 After these things Yehoshua and His talmidim came into the land of Yehudah. And He continued there with them and immersed.

3:23 And Yochanan was also immersing in Ain-Yon, near Salim28, for there was much water there. And they came and were being immersed.

3:24 For Yochanan had not yet been thrown into the prison.

3:25 Then a question from Yochanan's talmidim arose with the Yehudim about purification.

3:26 And they came to Yochanan and said to him, Rabbi, the One who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have witnessed, look, this One immerses, and all are coming to Him.

3:27 Yochanan answered and said, A man is able to receive nothing unless it has been given to him from Heaven.

3:28 You yourselves witness to me that I said, I am not the Messiah, but that having been sent, I am going before that One.

3:29 The one having the bride is the bridegroom. But the friend of the bridegroom, standing and hearing him, rejoices with joy because of the bridegroom's voice. Then by this my joy has been fulfilled29.

3:30 It is necessary for Him to increase, and for me to decrease.

3:31 For He who has come from above is higher than all, and he who is from the earth, is from the earth he speaks. He who has come from Heaven is higher than all.

3:32 And what He has seen and heard, this He testifies, and no one receives His testimony.

3:33 The one receiving His testimony has verified that Elohim is true.

3:34 For the One whom Yehovah sent speaks the Words of Yehovah, for Yehovah does not give the ruach with measure.

3:35 The Father loves the son and has given all things into His hand.

3:36 He who believes in the son has life that is eternal, and he who does not obey the son will not see life, rather the anger of Yehovah will rise up against him.

← Yochanan

4:1 Now the Perushim had heard that Yehoshua made many talmidim and was immersing more than Yochanan

4:2 (though truly Yehoshua Himself did not immerse, but His talmidim),

4:3 He left Yehudah and went away into Gelilah again.

4:4 And it was needful for Him to pass through Shomron.

4:5 And He came into a part of Shomron called Sychar, near the piece of land Ya'akov gave to his son Yoseph.

4:6 And there was there a spring of water that had belonged to Ya'akov, and Yehoshua was tired from the fatigue of the journey. And He sat by the spring, and it was the sixth hour.

4:7 Then a woman came to draw waters. Yehoshua said to her, Give Me some water to drink.

4:8 For His talmidim had gone away into the city that they might buy provisions.

4:9 Then that Shomronit woman said to him, You who are a Yehudi, do you ask of me to give you water to drink while I am a woman from the place of Shomron? For the Yehudim do not hold company with the Shomronim.

4:10 Yehoshua answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of Elohim, and who is the One saying to you, Give Me to drink, you, you would perhaps ask him, and he would give you living waters!

4:11 The woman answered Him, The well is deep, and you do not have something with which you can draw water; so how can you give me living water?

4:12 Are You greater than our father Ya'akov who gave us the well, and he and his sons and his sheep drank out of it?

4:13 Yehoshua answered and said to her, Everyone drinking of this water will thirst again;

4:14 But everyone who drinks of the waters that I will give him will not thirst in eternity; but the waters that I give him will become a spring, leaping with everlasting life.

4:15 The woman said to Him, Give me those waters, so that I will not have thirst and that I will not have to come here to draw waters in eternity.

4:16 Yehoshua said to her, Go, call your husband and return here.

4:17 And the woman answered and said, I have no husband. Yehoshua said to her, Well did you say, I have no husband.

4:18 For you have had five husbands! And the one that you have now is not your husband. This you have spoken is true.

4:19 The woman said to Him, my Master, I realize that You are a prophet.

4:20 Our fathers have bowed down to Yehovah in this mountain, but you say that the place where everyone has to pray to Elohim is in Yerushalayim.

4:21 Yehoshua said to her, Woman, believe Me that an hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither in this mountain nor in Yerushalayim 30.

4:22 You pray to whom you do not know; but we pray to whom we know, for shalom is about to come for the Yehudim.

4:23 But an hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in ruach and in truth. For the Father also seeks such, the ones worshiping Him.

4:24 Elohim is ruach, and the ones worshiping Him must worship in ruach and truth.

4:25 The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is ready to come, and when he comes he will reveal many things to us.

4:26 Yehoshua said to her, I am He! The One speaking to you.

4:27 And right then His talmidim came, and they were astonished when they found Him speaking with the woman. However, none of them asked Him what He was speaking to her, such as, What do you seek? or, What do you speak with her?

4:28 Then the woman left her water-pot and went away into the city and said to the people,

4:29 Come, A certain man made known to me all things, whatever I did. Is this One not the Messiah?

4:30 Therefore, they went out of the city and came to Him.

4:31 Now in the meantime His talmidim had entreated Him that He should eat.

4:32 But He said to them, I am about to eat something that you do not know of.

4:33 Then the talmidim said to one another, Is there someone who brought him something to eat?

4:34 Yehoshua said to them, My food is that I should do the will of Him who sent Me, and that I may finish His work.

4:35 Do you not say that after four new moons comes the harvest? Look I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields that are white and have ripened for the harvest already31.

4:36 And he who gathers, hires you, and gathers fruit according to your everlasting life, in order that he who sows and he who gathers may be glad together

4:37 For in this the word is true, that another is the one sowing, and another the one reaping.

4:38 I sent you to reap what you have not labored over. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.

4:39 Many Shomronim of that city believed in Him because of the words of the woman who did witness of Him, that Hhe told her everything she had done.

4:40 So when the Shomronim had come unto him, they entreated him that he should stay there with them, so he stayed two days

4:41 And many more people believed through His Words.

4:42 And they said to the woman, We do not believe through your words; but we ourselves, we heard Him and know that this is in truth the Savior of the world!.

4:43 But after the two days, He went out from there, and went away into Gelilah.

4:44 For Yehoshua Himself gave witness that no prophet has honor in his own land.

4:45 Therefore, when He came into Gelilah, the Galileans received Him because they saw everything He did in Yerushalayim in the day of the Feast, when He came to the day of the Feast.

4:46 Then Yehoshua came again to Cana of Gelilah where He made the water, wine. And there was a servant of a certain king, whose son was sick in Capernaum.

4:47 Hearing that Yehoshua was coming from Yehudah into Gelilah, this one went out to Him and asked Him that He would come and heal his son, for he was about to die.

4:48 Then Yehoshua said to him, If you do not see miracles and wonders, you will not believe!

4:49 That servant of the king said to him, My Master come down before the boy dies.

4:50 Yehoshua said to him, Go! Your son lives. And the man believed the word which Yehoshua said to him, and went away.

4:51 And while he was going down, his servants met up with him and brought him hope, and said to him, Your son lives!

4:52 He then asked from them the hour in which he had gotten better. And they said to him, Yesterday, at the seventh hour, the fever left him.

4:53 Then the father knew that it was at that hour in which Yehoshua said to him, Your son lives. And he himself, and his whole house, believed.

4:54 Again, this second miracle Yehoshua did, coming from Yehudah into Gelilah.

← Yochanan

5:1 After these things, was the Shavuot feast of the Yehudim, and Yehoshua went up to Yerushalayim.

5:2 Now in Yerushalayim there was a covered, dug-out pool where the waters were collected, which is called Beit-Tsaidah in the Hebrew tongue. And it had five ascents.

5:3 There were many people lying there, blind ones, lame ones, crippled ones, awaiting the stirring of the water,

5:4 to heal them of any sickness which they were sick with.

5:5 But a certain man was there, being sick thirty eight years.

5:6 So when Yehoshua saw him lying down, knowing that he stayed sick for a long time, He said to him, Do you desire to be healthy?

5:7 The sick one answered Him, Master, I do not have someone who can place me in the dug-out pool at the time when the waters become turbid; and when I want to go, another already went before me.

5:8 Yehoshua said to him, Rise up, lift up your bed and walk!

5:9 And immediately he was made healthy; and he lifted up his bed and went away. Now it was the Sabbath that day.

5:10 Then the Yehudim said to the one having been healed, It is the Sabbath. It is not lawful for you to lift up your bed32.

5:11 He answered them, The One making me well, that One said to me, Lift up your bed and walk.

5:12 Then they asked him, Who is the man who told you, Lift up your bed and walk?

5:13 But he did not know who it was who had healed him, for a crowd being in that place, for Yehoshua hid Himself from the people who were in that place.

5:14 Then Yehoshua found him in the Sanctuary and said to him, “Look, you are healthy, from now and onward do not be willing to sin, lest a bad thing happens to you.

5:15 So that man went and said to the Yehudim that Yehoshua is the One making him whole.

5:16 So they said, Even because of this does Yehoshua go around in Yehudah: to do these things on the Sabbath!.

5:17 But Yehoshua answered them, My Father works until now, therefore I work.

5:18 Then the Yehudim wanted to put Him to death even more, for not only did He release from obligation of the Sabbath, but even more, He said that his Father is Elohim, and he likened himself in equality to Elohim.

5:19 Then Yehoshua answered and said to them, Truth I say to you that the son is not able to do anything from Himself, but what He sees that the Father does. For these things that the Father does, the son also likewise does.

5:20 For the Father loves the son and teaches to Him all things which He does. And He will show Him greater works than these because you are not amazed.

5:21 For as the Father, who makes the dead alive and gives them life, so the son gives life to whomsoever he desires.

5:22 For the Father judges no one, but has given all judgment to the son,

5:23 so that all may honor the son, even as they honor the Father33. The one not honoring the son does not honor the Father who has sent Him.

5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, The one who hears My Word, and believes the One who has sent Me, has everlasting life, and does not come into judgment, but has removed himself out of death into life.

5:25 Truth I say to you that a time will come, and is now, that the dead ones will hear the voice of the son of Elohim; and those who obey Him will live.

5:26 For even as the Father has life in Himself, so He gave also to the son to have life in Himself34.

5:27 And He also gave authority to Him to execute judgment, for He is the son of Elohim.

5:28 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming in which all those in the tombs will hear His voice. Do not marvel about this, for a time will yet come, that all those who are in the graves will hear the voice of Elohim.

5:29 And they will come out, the ones having done good into a resurrection of life; and the ones having practiced evil into a resurrection of judgment.

5:30 I am not able to do anything of Myself, only as I hear do I judge. And My judgment is righteous and right, for I do not seek to do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

5:31 If I witness concerning Myself, My witness is not true;

5:32 there is another who does witness for me.

5:33 You have sent to Yochanan, and he has testified to the truth.

5:34 But I do not accept witness from man, but I say these things that you may be saved.

5:35 He, was a burning and shining light and Menorah, but you were not willing to rejoice one moment among us.

5:36 But I have a greater witness than Yochanan – that I fulfill the works which My Father gave Me. The works that I do, do witness for Me;

5:37 He also does witness for Me. And in eternity you have not heard His voice, nor seen His shape.35 (Joh 1:18)

5:38 And His word is not in you, because you do not believe that He sent Him

5:39 You search36 the Scriptures, for you think in them you have everlasting life. And they are the ones witnessing concerning Me.

5:40 And you are not willing to come to Me that you may have everlasting life.

5:41 I do not have glory from men;

5:42 but I have known you, that you do not have the love of Elohim in yourselves.

5:43 I came into the world from My Father37, and you do not receive Me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive that one.

5:44 How are you able to believe, you who receive glory from one another, but you do not seek them which are from Yehovah alone?

5:45 Do not be so foolish to think that I am he who accuses you; it is the one father who accuses, and this is Mosheh, he in whom your hope is.

5:46 For if you were believing Mosheh, you would then believe Me; for that one wrote concerning Me.

5:47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My Words?

← Yochanan

6:1 After these things, Yehoshua went away over the Sea of Gelilah, of Tiberius.

6:2 And a great crowd followed Him, for they saw His miracles which He did on the sick ones.

6:3 And Yehoshua went up into the mountain and sat there with His talmidim.

6:4 Now, the Feast of the Yehudim was near.

6:5 Then Yehoshua lifting up His eyes and saw that many people were coming to Him, He said to Philip, From where may we buy bread that these may eat?

6:6 But He said this to test him, for He knew what He was about to do.

6:7 Philip answered Him, bread for two hundred coins are not enough for them, that each of them may receive a little.

6:8 One of His talmidim said to Him, Andrew the brother of Simon Keipha,

6:9 A little boy is here who has five loaves of barley and two fish38; but what are these for so many?

6:10 And Yehoshua said, Make the people recline. And much grass was in the place. Then the men reclined, the number was about five thousand.

6:11 And Yehoshua took the loaves, and when he had done a prayer of thanksgiving to Yehovah, he divided the bread among the people, and so also the fish. And it was sufficient for them in everything they asked.

6:12 And when they were filled, He said to His talmidim, Gather up the fragments left over, that not anything be lost.

6:13 Then they gathered and filled twelve hand-baskets39 with fragments of the five barley loaves which were left over to those who had eaten.

6:14 Then seeing what miraculous sign Yehoshua did, the men said, This is in truth the Prophet, the One coming into the world.

6:15 Then knowing that they were about to come and seize Him, that they might make Him king, Yehoshua withdrew again to the mountain alone by Himself.

6:16 And when it became evening, His talmidim went down on the sea.

6:17 And entering into the boat, they were going across the sea to Capernaum. And darkness had already occurred, and Yehoshua had not come to them.

6:18 And the sea was aroused by a great wind blowing.

6:19 Then having rowed about twenty five or thirty furlongs, they saw Yehoshua walking on the sea. And He having come near the boat, they were afraid.

6:20 But He said to them, I am He! Do not fear.

6:21 Then they desired to take Him into the boat. And the boat was instantly at the land to which they were going.

6:22 On the next day, the crowd standing on the other side of the sea had seen that no other little boat was there except one, that one into which His talmidim entered, and that Yehoshua did not go with His talmidim into the small boat, but that the talmidim went away alone.

6:23 However, other boats did come from Tiberias, to that place where they ate the bread and did a prayer of thanksgiving to Elohim.

6:24 Therefore, when the crowd saw that Yehoshua was not there nor His talmidim, they themselves also entered into the boats and came to Capernaum seeking Yehoshua.

6:25 And finding Him across the sea, they said to Him, Rabbi, when did you come here?

6:26 Yehoshua answered them and said, Truth, I say to you, You seek Me not because you saw miraculous signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were satisfied.

6:27 You were made, not for food that perishes (whosoever perishes), but for food that abides into everlasting life, which the son of Elohim will give to you; for Elohim the Father sealed40 this One.

6:28 Then they said to Him, What may we do that we may work the works of Elohim?

6:29 Yehoshua answered and said to them, This is the work of Elohim, that you believe into Him whom that One sent.

6:30 Then they said to Him, Then what miraculous sign do You do that we may see and may believe You? What do You work?

6:31 Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, as it is written "He gave them bread out of Heaven to eat." (Psa. 78:24)

6:32 Then Yehoshua said to them, Truth, I say to you, Mosheh has not given you the bread out of Heaven, but My Father gives you the true bread out of Heaven,

6:33 and gives life to the world.

6:34 Then they said to Him, Master, may this bread be given to us all the time.

6:35 Yehoshua said to them, I am the Bread of life; the one coming to Me will not at all hunger, and the one believing into Me will not thirst in eternity!

6:36 But this I say to you because you saw Me and yet you did not believe in Me.

6:37 Every one the Father gave me comes to me, and he who comes to me I will not cast out.

6:38 For I have come down out of Heaven, not that I should do My will, but the will of Him who sent Me.

6:39 And this is the will of the Father sending Me, that of all that He has given Me, I shall not lose any from it, but shall raise him up in the last day.

6:40 And this is the will of the One sending Me, that everyone choosing the son and believing into Him should have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

6:41 Then the Yehudim whispered to each other about Him, because He said, I am the Bread coming down out of Heaven.

6:42 And they said, Is this not Yehoshua the son of Yoseph, of whom we know the father and the mother? How does this One now say, I have come down out of Heaven?

6:43 Then Yehoshua answered and said to them, Do not murmur with one another.

6:44 No one is able to come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up in the last day.

6:45 For it is written in the prophets that all of them will be taught of Elohim. Everyone who hears therefore and learns from the Father comes to me. (Isa. 54:13)

6:46 It is not that man can see the Father, except he who is from the Father, and he, he has seen the Father.

6:47 Truth, I say to you, The one believing into Me has everlasting life.

6:48 I am the Bread of life41.

6:49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and died.

6:50 This is He who descended from the heavens in order that he who eats of Him will not die.

6:51 I am the Living Bread that came down from Heaven. If anyone eats of this Bread, he will live forever. And indeed the bread which I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the existence of the world.

6:52 Then the Yehudim argued with one another, saying, How can this One give us His flesh to eat?

6:53 Then Yehoshua said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, Except you eat the flesh of the son of Elohim, and drink His blood, you do not have life in yourselves42.

6:54 The one partaking of My flesh and drinking of My blood has everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

6:55 For My body is truly food, and My blood is truly drink.

6:56 He who eats my body and drinks my blood abides in me and I in him.

6:57 Even as the living Father sent Me, and I live through the Father; also the one partaking Me, even that one will live through Me.

6:58 This is the Bread which came down out of Heaven, not as your fathers ate the manna and died; the one partaking of this Bread will live for eternity.

6:59 He said these things teaching in a house of assembly in Capernaum.

6:60 Then many of His talmidim having heard, they said, This word is hard; who is able to obey it?

6:61 And when Yehoshua heard their measure of belief he said, “Who will terrify you?

6:62 What if you see the son of Elohim ascending to the place where He was before?

6:63 It is the ruach that gives life. The flesh does not not benefit any one. The Words which I speak to you are ruach and are life.

6:64 But there are some of you who are not believing. For Yehoshua knew from the beginning who they were, the ones not believing, and who was the one betraying Him.

6:65 And He said, Because of this, I have told you that no one is able to come to Me except it is given to him from My Father.

6:66 Because of this many of his talmidim returned back, and many did not walk with him anymore.

6:67 Therefore, Yehoshua said to the Twelve, Do you also wish to go?

6:68 Then Simon Keipha answered Him, Master, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of everlasting life are yours!

6:69 And we have believed and have known that You are the Messiah, the son of the living Elohim.

6:70 Yehoshua answered them, Did I not choose you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is an adversary!

6:71 But He spoke of Yehudah Iscariot, Simon's son, for this one was about to betray Him, being one of the Twelve.

← Yochanan

7:1 And after these things Yehoshua was walking in Gelilah; for He did not want to walk in Yehudah, because the Yehudim were seeking to put Him to death. .

7:2 Now the Feast of Sukkot in Yehudah was near.

7:3 Then one said to Him, Depart from here and go into Yehudah that your talmidim may see your works which you do,

7:4 for no one does anything in secret and himself seeks to be in public. If You do these things, publicize Youself to the world.

7:5 For his brothers had not yet believed into Him.

7:6 Then Yehoshua said to them, My time is not yet here, but your time is always ready.

7:7 The world cannot be angry with you; but it is angry Me because I witness about it, that its works are evil.

7:8 You will try to kill Me in this day of the Feast, but My time is not fulfilled.

7:9 And saying these things to them, He remained in Gelilah.

7:10 And when his brothers went up into Yerushalayim in the day of the Feast, then he went up too not openly, but just in hiding.

7:11 Then the Yehudim sought Him in the feast, and said, Where is that One?

7:12 And much murmuring about Him was in the crowds. Some said, He is a good one; but others said, No, but He makes the peoples rebellious.

7:13 However, no one publicly spoke about Him, because of the fear of the Yehudim.

7:14 But in the middle of the feast, Yehoshua went up to the sanctuary and taught.

7:15 And the Yehudim were astonished and saying, How does this man know the scrolls, since he has not learned them?

7:16 Yehoshua answered them and said, My teaching is not Mine, but of the One who sent Me.

7:17 If any man desires to do the desire of Elohim, he will recognize the teaching ,whether it is from Elohim, or if his word is from himself.

7:18 Who ever speaks of himself seeks his own honor. Truly, whosoever seeks a sign of him who sent him, he does not have true seed in him.

7:19 Has not Mosheh given you the Torah, that none of you should diminish or lessen the law? Why do you want to put me to death?

7:20 The crowd answered and said, You have a demon. Who seeks to kill You?

7:21 Yehoshua answered and said to them, I did one work, and you all marvel.

7:22 Because of this Mosheh gave you the covenant of circumcision. Not that that word was from Mosheh, but from the fathers, and on the Sabbath you circumcise men.

7:23 If a man is circumcised on the day of the Sabbath so that the Torah of Mosheh should not be loosed, why do you murmur against me because the man who was created whole, I have made whole on this day of the Sabbath43?

7:24 Therefore do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

7:25 So some of the sons of Yerushalayim said, “Is it not this man whom we want to put to death?

7:26 Look, He speaks publicly, and we say nothing to Him. Do our Elders know that this is indeed the Messiah?

7:27 However, do we not know this man, where He is from?. But when the Messiah comes, no one knows from where He is.

7:28 Then, Yehoshua cried out in the sanctuary, and taught saying, You both know Me, and you know from where I am. And I have not come from Myself, but He is true, the One having sent Me, whom you do not know.

7:29 But I know Him. And if I say, ‘I do not know Him’ I will become a liar just like you; but I know that I am from Him, and that He sent Me!

7:30 Then they wanted to lay hold of Him; yet no one laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

7:31 But many of the crowd believed into Him, and said, The Messiah, when He comes will He do more miracles than these which this One did?

7:32 The Perushim heard the crowd murmuring these things about Him, and the Perushim and the chief priests sent officers, should lay hold of Him.

7:33 Then Yehoshua said to them, Yet a little while I am with you, and I go to Him who sent Me.

7:34 You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you are not able to come.

7:35 Then the Yehudim said amongst themselves, Where is this One about to go that we will not find Him? Why, indeed, is He about to go to the countries of the Gentiles and teach the pagans?

7:36 What is this teaching which He said, You will seek Me and will not find Me, and, Where I am, you are not able to come?

7:37 Now on the great day, which is the last of the feast44, Yehoshua was standing and He cried out and said, If a man thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

7:38 Anyone who believes in me as the scriptures have said, rivers of living water will flow from his belly.

7:39 But He said this concerning the ruach, whom the ones believing into Him were about to receive; for the set apart ruach was not yet given, because Yehoshua had not yet come into the glory of the Most High.

7:40 Then hearing the Word, many of the crowd said, This is the true Prophet.

7:41 And others said, “This is Messiah!” But others said, “Will Messiah come from Gelilah?

7:42 Does not the Scripture say that the Messiah comes from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the village where David was? (Mic. 5:2)

7:43 And in this controversy the people disputed because of Him.

7:44 And some of them desired to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.

7:45 Then those who were sent, returned to the rulers and Perushim; but they said to them, Why did you not bring Him?

7:46 Those who were sent answered and said, From eternity we have not heard anyone speak His words like that man speaks.

7:47 Then the Perushim answered them, Have you not also been deceived?

7:48 Not any from the rulers or from the Perushim believed into Him have they?

7:49 But not knowing the Torah, this crowd is cursed.

7:50 Nicodemus said to them, the one coming by night to Him, being one of themselves,

7:51 Does your Torah judge the man unless it hear from him first, and know what he has done?

7:52 And they answered and said to him, Why are you also from Gelilah? Search the Scriptures, and you will find that no prophet comes from Gelilah.

7:53 Then every single man returned to his house.

← Yochanan

8:1 But Yehoshua went to the Mount of Olives.

8:2 And at dawn, He again arrived into the sanctuary; and all the people came to Him. And sitting down, He taught them.

8:3 And the Soferim and the Perushim brought to Him a woman having been taken in adultery.

8:4 And they said to Him, This woman was caught in adultery.

8:5 Now the law of Mosheh commands us that she should be judged by stoning. But what do you say about this?

8:6 But they said this, tempting Him, that they may have reason to accuse Him. But bending down, Yehoshua wrote with His finger in the earth.

8:7 But when they continued asking Him, He stood up and said to them, Let him who is found without sin among you, cast the first stone on her.

8:8 Then He kneeled again and wrote something on the ground.

8:9 So when they heard this, they all departed from that place , one after another, starting with the leaders; and in the meanwhile Yehoshua was left alone.

8:10 Then Yehoshua stood up and said to the woman, Where are they who bore witness against you, did no man punish you?

8:11 And she said, No one, Master. And Yehoshua said to her, Neither will I punish you; go and stop sinning, from now and onward!45

8:12 Then Yehoshua again spoke to them, saying, I am the Lamp of the world. The one following Me will in no way walk in the darkness and gloom; but he will indeed have life.

8:13 Then the Perushim said, “You do witness of yourself and from your own mouth; your witness is not true.

8:14 Yehoshua answered and said to them, Even if I witness concerning Myself, My witness is true; for I know from where I came, and where I go. But you do not know from where I came, and where I go.

8:15 You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one.

8:16 But even if I judge, My judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent Me.

8:17 And in your Torah it is written that the witness of two or more is true. (Deut. 19:15)

8:18 I am he who does witness for Myself, and the Father who sent Me bears witness for Me.

8:19 Then they said to Him, Where is your father? Yehoshua answered, You neither know Me, nor My Father. If you knewn Me, you would perhaps know my Father as well.

8:20 Yehoshua spoke these words in the treasury, teaching in the sanctuary; and no one laid hold of Him, for His hour had not yet come.

8:21 Then Yehoshua said to them again, I am going away and you will seek me, but you will die in your iniquity. You are not able to come to the place where I am going.

8:22 Then the Yehudim would have killed themselves, because He says, Where I go, you are not able to come?

8:23 So He said to them, You are from the lowest things, but I am from the highest things; you are from this world, but I am not from this world.

8:24 Because of this have I told you that you will die in your iniquities, unless you believe that I am he, you will die in your iniquity.46.

8:25 So Yehoshua answered and said to them, “The Ancient one, who speaks,

8:26 many things unto you, and speaks of you, and judges. But He who sent Me, is true, and I, the words which I hear from Him, them I speak in the world.

8:27 But they did not realize what He told them ,that Elohim is His Father.

8:28 Then Yehoshua said to them, When you lift up the son of Elohim, then you will know that I am he; and from Myself I do nothing; but as My Father taught Me, these things I speak.

8:29 And He who sent me is with me and does not leave me alone, because my Father is pleased at all times with the things that I do.

8:30 All the time that He was speaking these words, many believed in Him.

8:31 Then Yehoshua said to the Yehudim who had believed in Him, If you continue in My Word, you will become my talmidim in truth.

8:32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will fulfill your requests.

8:33 They answered Him, We are Abraham's seed, and we have never been servants!47 How do You say, You will become free men?

8:34 Yehoshua answered them, In Truth, I say to you, Everyone practicing sin is a servant of sin.

8:35 But the servant does not remain in the house forever; only the sin abides for ever.

8:36 But if the son makes atonement for you with haste, you will be free men..

8:37 I know that you are Abraham's seed, but you seek to kill Me, because My Word is not given room in you.

8:38 I speak what I have seen with My Father. And you therefore do what you have seen with your father.

8:39 They answered and said to Him, Abraham is our father. Yehoshua said to them, If you were children of Abraham, do the works of Abraham!

8:40 But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has spoken the truth to you, which I heard from of Elohim48. Did Abraham do this?

8:41 You do the works of your father. They said to Him, We were not born of temple prostitution; we have one father, Elohim.

8:42 Then Yehoshua said to them, If Elohim were your Father, you would love Me, for I went forth and have come from Elohim. For I have not come from Myself, but that One sent Me.

8:43 Why do you not know My word? It is because you are not able to obey My Word.

8:44 You are of the sons of The adverary your father, and the lusts of your father you desire to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and he has not stood in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own, because he is a liar, and the father of it.

8:45 And because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me.

8:46 Who of you traps Me concerning sin? But if I speak truth, why do you not believe Me?

8:47 Who ever is from Elohim, obeys the word of Elohim; and this is why you do not obey it, because you are not from Elohim

8:48 Then the Yehudim answered and said to Him, Do we not say well that You are a Shomroni and have a demon?

8:49 There is no demon in Me, but I do honor my Father while you despise me!

8:50 And I do not seek My honor; it is another who seeks it, and He judges true judgment.

8:51 I say to you in truth that if one establishes my words, he will never die in eternity!

8:52 Then the Yehudim said to Him, Now we know that You have a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets, and You say, If anyone keeps My Word, he will not taste of death forever!

8:53 Are You greater than our father Abraham who died? And the prophets who died! Who is it that praises You with these honors except you yourself?

8:54 Yehoshua answered, If I glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; it is My Father who glorifies Me, whom you say is your Elohim.

8:55 And you have not known Him; but I know Him, And if I say that I do not know Him, I shall be like you, a liar. But I know Him, and I keep His Word.

8:56 Your father Abraham leaped for joy that he should see My day, and he saw, and rejoiced.

8:57 Then the Yehudim said to Him, You do not yet have fifty years, and have You seen Abraham?

8:58 Yehoshua said to them, Truth, I say to you, Before Abraham existed, I am the one49!

8:59 Then they brought stones to cast them on him; but Yehoshua hid Himself and went out of the Sanctuary.

← Yochanan

9:1 As Yehoshua was walking He saw a man, blind from the day of his birth.

9:2 And His talmidim asked Him, saying, Rabbi, who sinned, this one, or his parents, that he was born blind?

9:3 Yehoshua answered, Neither this one nor his parents sinned, but that the works of Elohim might be revealed in him.

9:4 It is necessary for Me to work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day. Night comes when no one is able to work.

9:5 While I am in the world, there is a lamp in the world.

9:6 And when He said these things He spat upon the ground and mixed clay with His saliva and He rubbed it upon the eyes of that blind man.

9:7 And He said to him, Go, purify yourself in the pool of Siloam, which translated is Sent. Then he went and washed, and he saw with his eyes!

9:8 And they who had formerly seen that he had been poor, said, Is this not the man who used to beg at the gates, and sat and ate, wearily?

9:9 Some said, This is he; and others said, No, but he closely resembles him. That one said, I am the one.

9:10 Then they said to him, How were your eyes opened?

9:11 He answered and said, A man being called Yehoshua made clay and anointed my eyes, and told me, Go to the water of Siloam and wash. And going and washing and then I saw!

9:12 Then they said to him, Where is that One? He said, I do not know.

9:13 They brought him to the Perushim,

9:14 and said that Yehoshua had made clay on the Sabbath, and opened that man’s eyes.

9:15 Then also the Perushim asked him; In what manner did He restore your sight for you?. And he said to them, “He made clay, and placed it on my eyes; and I stood up and saw!

9:16 Then some of the Perushim said, This man is not from Elohim, because He does not keep the Sabbath. Others said, How can a man, a sinner, do such miracles? And there was a division among them.

9:17 They said to the blind one again, What do you say about Him, because He opened your eyes? And he said, He is a prophet.

9:18 Then the Yehudim did not believe concerning him, that he was blind and saw anew, until they called the parents of him seeing anew.

9:19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, whom you say that he was born blind? Then how does he now see?

9:20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind.

9:21 But how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him, for he is a son of knowledge, and he will speak for himself.

9:22 His parents said these things because they feared the Yehudim; for the Yehudim had already agreed that if anyone should confess Him as Messiah, he would be expelled from the house of assembly.

9:23 Because of this, his parents said, He is of age, ask him.

9:24 Then they asked him again, the man who had been abiding in blindness, and said to him, Give praise and prayer of thanksgiving to Yehovah, do you not know that this man is a sinner?

9:25 Then he answered and said, I do not know. One thing I do know; that being blind, now I see.

9:26 And they said to him again, What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?

9:27 He answered them, I told you already, and you did not hear. Why do you wish to hear again? Do you also desire to become talmidim of Him?

9:28 Then they cursed him and said, You are a talmid of that One, but we are talmidim of Mosheh.

9:29 We know that Elohim has spoken by Mosheh, but this One, we do not know from where He is.

9:30 The man answered and said to them, For there is a marvel in this, that you do not know from where He is, and He opened my eyes.

9:31 But do you not know that Elohim does not hear sinful ones, but if anyone is Elohim fearing, and does His will, He hears that one.

9:32 From eternity no man has heard that anyone opened the eyes of a man who had been born blind, except this man.

9:33 And except He has this ability from Elohim, it would not be in His hand to do anything.

9:34 Then they answered and said to him, Look, you were born in iniquity, and you must not teach! And they drove him out

9:35 Yehoshua heard that they threw him outside, and finding him, He said to him, Do you believe into the son of Elohim?

9:36 And he answered and said, Who is He, Master, that I may believe into Him?

9:37 And Yehoshua said to him, Even you have seen Him, and He speaking with you is that One.

9:38 And he said, I believe, My Master! And he bowed and did homage to Him.

9:39 And Yehoshua said, I came into this world for judgment that the ones not seeing may see, and the ones seeing may become blind.

9:40 And those of the Perushim who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, Are we also blind?

9:41 Yehoshua said to them, If you were only blind you would have had no iniquity; but your iniquity abides.

← Yochanan

10:1 In Truth, I say to you that he who does not enter into the sheepfold of the flock by the gate but climbs up by another place; he is a thief and a robber50.

10:2 But the one entering through the gate is the shepherd of the sheep.

10:3 And he opens the door, and the sheep follow his voice. He calls the sheep by name, and leads them outside.

10:4And when he has led the sheep outside, he goes before them and the sheep follow him, for they know his voic;51.

10:5 But they will not follow after the voice of the strange man52!

10:6 Yehoshua spoke this parable to them, but they did not know what it was which He spoke to them.

10:7 Then Yehoshua again said to them, In Truth, I say to you that I am the door of the sheep.

10:8 All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not obey them.

10:9 I am the door. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved, and will go in, and will go out, and will find pasture.

10:10 The thief does not come except that he may steal, and kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life and may have it abundantly.

10:11 I am the Good Shepherd! The Good Shepherd lays down His life on behalf of the sheep of the hirer.53.

10:12 But he who is not a good hireling, because the sheep are not near to him, when he sees the wolf coming, he leaves the sheep and flees.

10:13 For he is a hireling who does not put his effort into the keeping of the sheep.

10:14 I am the good Shepherd, and I know My flock and they know Me.54.

10:15 Even as the Father knows Me, I also know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep.

10:16 Now, there are other sheep which are not of this fold,55 and I am compelled to lead them too; and they will know my voice, and it will be one fold and one Shepherd56.

10:17 Because of this the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, in order to receive it again.

10:18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to receive it again. This command I have received from My Father.

10:19 Then a division occurred again among the Yehudim, because of these words.

10:20 And many of them said, He has a demon and is insane. Why do you obey Him?

10:21 Others said, These are not words of one having been possessed by a demon. A demon is not able to open the eyes of blind ones.

10:22 These things were said in Yerushalayim, and it was winter.

10:23 As Yehoshua was walking in the sanctuary, in Solomon's Porch,

10:24 the Yehudim surrounded Him, and said to Him, How long do you hold our breaths? If You are the Messiah, tell us plainly.

10:25 Yehoshua answered them, I told you, and you did not believe. The works which I do in the name of My Father, these bear witness about Me.

10:26 But you do not believe for you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.

10:27 My sheep obey My voice, and I know them, and they follow after Me.

10:28 And I give everlasting life to them, and they shall not perish for eternity! And no other can tear them from my hand.

10:29 My Father who gave them to Me, is greater than everything, and no man is able to tear them from the hand of My Father.

10:30 I and the Father are one in purpose 58!

10:31 Then again the Yehudim took up stones, that they might stone Him.

10:32 Yehoshua answered them, Many good works have I told you, and I showed you some of them. For which work of these do you want to stone Me?

10:33 So the Yehudim answered him, We do not stone you for a good work, but for cursing and blaspheming; because you are a man and not Elohim, and you make yourself an elohim!59.

10:34 Yehoshua answered them, Has it not been written in your Torah, "I have told you, you are Elohim60?" (Psa. 82:6)

10:35 If those people He called Elohim because the Word of Elohim was with them and that which is written is not proper to blot out,

10:36do you say that I, Him who the Father set apart and sent into the world , do revile and blaspheme when I say, I am the son of Elohim?.

10:37 If I were not doing the works of My Father, you would be able to say so.

10:38 But if I do them, why do you speak like this? And if you do not want to believe Me, believe the works,in order that you may recognize that the Father is in Me, and I am the same as the Father.

10:39 And he departed from their hand.

10:40 And He went away across the Jordan to the place where Yochanan was at first immersing and stayed there.

10:41 And many came to Him and said, Yochanan indeed did no miraculous sign, but all things that Yochanan said concerning this man were true.

10:42 And many believed into Him there.

← Yochanan

11:1 And there was a certain sick one, Eliezar from Bethany, of the village of Mariam and her sister Martha.

11:2 And it was that Miryam who later6 anointed Yeshua Messiah with ointment and wiped off his feet with the hairs of her head, whose brother Eliezer was sick.

11:3 Then the sisters sent to Him, saying, Look, the one whom You love is extremely sick.

11:4 And hearing, Yehoshua said, This is not sickness to death, but for the exaltation of Elohim, that the son of Elohim be exalted by it.

11:5 Now Yehoshua loved Martha and her sister and Eliezar.

11:6 Therefore, when He heard that he is sick, then, indeed, He remained in the place where He was two days.

11:7 Then after this He said to the talmidim, Let us go to Yehudah again.

11:8 TBut the talmidim said to him, “Rabbi, did not days pass by that the Yehudim wanted to stone you, and yet you want to go there?

11:9 Yehoshua answered, “Are there not twelve hours in a day? Anyone who walks2 in the day does not do evil, for he sees this light of the world.

11:10 But if a man walks in the night, causes pain to himself, because he has no lamp.

11:11 He said these things. And after this, He said to them, our friend Eliezar sleeps61, but I am going to awaken him from the sleep.

11:12 Then His talmidim said, our Master, if he has fallen asleep, he will get well.

11:13 But Yehoshua had spoken about his death, but they thought that He spoke of the sleep of dreaming.

11:14 Therefore, then Yehoshua said to them plainly, Eliezar has died.

11:15 And I rejoice that I was not there because of you that you may believe, but let us walk to there.

11:16 Then Thomas, he having been called doubting, said to the fellow talmidim, Let us go, even we, that we may die with Him.

11:17 Then coming, Yehoshua found him already being held in the tomb four days.

11:18 And Bethany was near Yerushalayim, about fifteen furlongs off.

11:19 And many of the Yehudim had come to those around Martha and Mariam, that they might comfort them concerning their brother.

11:20 Then when Martha heard that Yehoshua is coming, she ran to Him; but Mariam stayed in the house.

11:21 Then Martha said to Yehoshua, my Master, if You were here, my brother would not have died.

11:22 But even now I know that whatever You may ask Elohim, He will give to You.

11:23 Yehoshua said to her, Your brother will come back to life.

11:24 Martha said to Him, I know that he will stand up in the resurrection in the last day62.

11:25 Yehoshua said to her, I am the Resurrection and the Life63.

11:26 And every man who lives and believes [in] me will not die for ever. Do you believe this?

11:27 She said to Him, Yes, Master, I believe that You are the Messiah, the son of the living Elohim who came into the world.

11:28 And saying these things, she went away and called her sister Mariam.

11:29 That one, when she heard, rose up quickly and came to Him.

11:30 And Yehoshua had not yet come into the village, but was in the place where Martha met Him.

11:31 Then the Yehudim who were with her in the house, and comforting her, seeing that Mariam quickly rose up and went out, they followed her, saying, She is going to the tomb so that she may weep there.

11:32 Then Mariam, when she came where Yehoshua was, seeing Him, she fell at His feet, saying to Him, Master, if You were here, my brother would not have died.

11:33 And Yehoshua when He saw her weeping and the Yehudim, those who had come with her who were weeping, he groaned in His ruach and was moved in his soul.

11:34 And He said, Where have you put him? They said to Him, Master, come and see where he is.

11:35 Now tears were going out from the eyes of Yehoshua.64.

11:36 Then the Yehudim said, Look how He loved him!

11:37 But some of them said, Was this One, the One opening the eyes of the blind, not able to have caused that this one should not die?

11:38 Then groaning again within Himself, Yehoshua came to the tomb. And it was a cave, and a stone was placed upon its entrance.

11:39 And Yehoshua said, Take this stone away! Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, My Master, it is the fourth day. He stinks already!

11:40 Yehoshua said to her, Did I not say to you that if you would believe you will in truth see the glory of Elohim?

11:41 And so, remove the stone! Then Yehoshua lifted up His eyes to the heavens and said, “Father, I do a prayer of thanksgiving to you, grant my request.

11:42 And I know that You always hear Me, only for the sake of the people who are standing around me have I said this, in order that they may believe that you sent Me.

11:43 And saying these things, He cried out with a loud voice, Eliezar, come!

11:44 And that dead man came out while his hands and his feet were bound in bandages, and his face bound in a head cloth! Yehoshua said to them, Untie him and allow him to go!

11:45 Then many of the Yehudim, those coming to Mariam, and having seen what Yehoshua did, believed into Him.

11:46 But some of them went away to the Perushim and told them what Yehoshua had done.

11:47 Then the chief priests and the Perushim assembled a Sanhedrin, and said, What are we doing, for this man does many miracles?

11:48 If we let Him alone this way, all will believe into Him, and the Romans will come and will take away from us both our land and our nation.

11:49 But a certain one of them, Caiaphas being high priest of that year, said to them, You know nothing,

11:50 and you do not realize that it is better that one man should die for us for the sake of the nation, than all the nation should perish.

11:51 But he did not say this from himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Yehoshua was about to die on behalf of the nation,

11:52 And not only for the sake of the nation but that also the sons of Elohim who are scattered that he might gather into one nation65.

11:53 So on that day the Yehudim were thinking how they could kill Yehoshua.

11:54 Then Yehoshua no longer walked publicly among the Yehudim, but went away from there into the country near a deserted place, to a city being called Ephraim66, and stayed there with His talmidim.

11:55 And the Pesach of the Yehudim was near. And many went up to Yerushalayim out of the country before the Pesach that they might purify themselves.

11:56 Then they sought Yehoshua, and said with one another, standing in the sanctuary, What does it seem to you? That He does not at all come to the Feast?

11:57 And all the chief priests and the Perushim had given commands that if anyone knew where He is, he should inform so that they could lay hold of Him.

← Yochanan

12:1 Then six days before the Pesach, Yehoshua came to Bethany, where Eliezar was, who had died, whom He raised from the dead,

12:2 and they prepared for him to eat. Now Marta served him, and Eliezer was one of those who ate.

12:3 Then Miryam took one pound of extremely precious nard ointment, and anointed the feet of Yehoshua. And all the house was filled with the pleasant fragrance of the ointment.

12:4 Then Simon's son, one of His talmidim, Yehudah Iscariot, who was about to betray Him, said,

12:5 Why was this ointment not sold for three hundred coins67 and given to the poor ones?

12:6But this which he said, he did not say it because he kept an eye on the poor ones, but for him, even for himself he sought it, for he was a thief, and he had purses wherein were placed that which they carried.

12:7 Then Yehoshua said, said, you must leave it, in order that I may regard it in the day of my burial.

12:8 For poor ones will be among you always, but I will not be with you for all time.

12:9 Then a great crowd of the Yehudim learned that He was there. And they did not come because of Yehoshua alone, but that they also might see Eliezar whom He raised from the dead.

12:10 But the chief priests were also thinking that they might kill Eliezar also,

12:11 for many of the Yehudim came there because of him, and believed in Yehoshua.

12:12 On the next day, coming to the Feast, hearing that Yehoshua is coming to Yerushalayim, a great crowd

12:13took branches of date palms, and went out unto him to the way. And they shouted saying, Hoshanah!68! "Being, blessed is the One coming in the name of Yehovah, the King of Yisrael!"

12:14 Now Yehoshua had found a colt, the foal of a female donkey, and sat on it, as it is written,,

12:15 "Do not fear, daughter of Zion, Look your King comes to you and is mounted upon a colt, the fold of a female donkey." (Isa. 40:9; Zech. 9:9)

12:16 But His talmidim did not know these things at the first, but when Yehoshua was glorified of the Most High, then they realized that these things had been written on Him, and that they did these things to Him.

12:17 Therefore the crowd of the people who were with Him did witness of Him, that He called Eliezer from the grave, and that He made him return from death to life.

12:18 Because of this also the crowd met Him, because it heard of this miracle He had done.

12:19 Then the Perushim said to themselves, Observe that you gain nothing. Look, the world has gone after Him.

12:20 Now there were some of the sons of Anaq among those coming up, that they might worship at the Feast.

12:21 Then these came to Philip, the one from Bethsaida of Gelilah, and asked him, saying, Sir, we desire to see Yehoshua.

12:22 Philip came and told Andrew, and again Andrew and Philip told Yehoshua.

12:23 But Yehoshua answered them, saying, The hour has come that the son of Elohim should be glorified.

12:24 Truth I say to you that a grain of wheat, except it should fall and die on the ground, remains by itself. But if it dies, it produces much fruit.

12:25 Whoever loves his soul will destroy it, and whoever denounces his soul in this world will keep it to everlasting life.

12:26 He who wants to serve Me, let him serve following after Me – and at the place where I am, My servant must be. He who serves Me, My Father will honor him.

12:27 And My soul is troubled, and what may I say? Father, save Me out of this time? Rather, because of this I came to this time,

12:28 to exalt and to lift up Your name. Then a voice came from the heavens and said, As for Me, I have exalted it, and I will again lift it up.

12:29 Then standing and hearing, the crowd said that thunder occurred. Others said, a messenger has spoken to Him.

12:30 Yehoshua answered and said, This voice did not come for My sake, but for your sake.

12:31 Now is the judgment of the world; now the prince of this world will be cast outside.

12:32 When I, if I be lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself.

12:33 But He said this, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.

12:34 The crowd answered Him, We heard out of the Torah that The Messiah remains forever. And how do You say that the son of Elohim must be lifted up? Who is this son of Elohim?

12:35 Then Yehoshua said to them, There is still a lamp among you – walk while the lamp is among you that you do not fall in darkness and gloom. For whosoever walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

12:36 While you have the lamp, believe in the lamp in order that you may become sons of the lamp. Yehoshua spoke these things and departed and hid from them.

12:37 Though He had done so many miraculous signs before them, they did not believe into Him,

12:38 so that the Word of Yesha'yahu the prophet might be fulfilled, which he said, "Master, who has believed our report? And the arm of Yehovah, to whom was it revealed?" (Isa. 53:1)

12:39 Because of this they could not believe, because Yesha'yahu said again,

12:40 "They have blinded their eyes and have darkened their heart that they might not see with their eyes and understand with their heart and repent and I heal them." (Isa. 6:10)

12:41 Yesha'yahu said these things when he saw His glory, and spoke about Him.

12:42However many of the leaders did believe in Him; but for fear of the Perushim they did not confess him, lest they should be cast from the house of the house of assembly.

12:43 For they loved the praise of men more than the glory of Elohim.

12:44 But Yehoshua called out and said, The one believing into Me does not believe into Me, but into the One sending Me.

12:45 And the one seeing Me sees the One who sent Me.

12:46 I am the lamp who came in the world so that everyone who believes in Me will not abide in the darkness.

12:47 And if one hears my words but does not keep them, will I myself not judge him; even though I myself did not come to judge the world, but that I may be their Savior?

12:48 The one who rejects Me and does not receive My Words has that judging him: the Word which I spoke, that will judge him in the last Day69.

12:49 For I did not speak from Myself, but He who sent Me, the Father, He has given Me command, what I should say, and what I should speak.

12:50 And I know that His commandment is everlasting life70. And that which I speak is identical to that which the Father speaks, so I speak.

← Yochanan

13:1 And before71 the Feast of the Pesach, Yehoshua knowing that His hour had come that He should move from this world to the Father, loving His own in the world, He loved them to the end.

13:2 Now the meal being done, the The adverary having put already into the heart of Simon's son Yehudah Iscariot that he should betray Him,

13:3 because he knew that Elohim has given all things into His hands, and that He came out from Elohim, and goes away to Elohim,

13:4 He rose up from the meal and laid down His clothes and took a linen cloth and girded Himself.

13:5 Then He put water into the basin and began to wash the feet of the talmidim, and to wipe off with the linen cloth with which He was girded72.

13:6 He then came to Simon Keipha. And that one said to Him, Master, do You wash my feet?

13:7 “Yehoshua answered and said to him, The thing that I do you do not understand now, but afterwards you will know”.

13:8 Keipha said to Him, You may never wash my feet for me. Yehoshua answered him, If I do not wash you, you have no portion with Me.

13:9 Simon Keipha said to Him, Master, not my feet only, but also the hands and the head.

13:10 Yehoshua said to him, The one having been bathed has no need other than to wash the feet, for all of him is clean73. And you are clean, but not all.

13:11 For He knew the one betraying Him. For this reason He said, You are not all clean.

13:12 Then when He had washed their feet and had taken His clothes, reclining again, He said to them, Do you understand that thing which I have done?

13:13 You call Me Rabbi, and, the Master. And and give praise and blessing to the Name,

13:14 however, I your Master wash your feet. So you also have to wash, each one the foot of his friend.

13:15 For I have given it to you for a parable, that as I did to you, you also should do74.

13:16 Truly, truly, I say to you, A slave is not greater than his Master, nor a messenger greater than the one sending him.

13:17 If you know these things, you will be blessed when you do them.

13:18 I do not speak concerning all of you; I know whom I chose out; but that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "The one eating the bread with Me lifted up his heel against Me." (Psa. 41:9)

13:19 From now on I will say to you a thing before it happens, so that when it happens you will believe that I am He.

13:20 Truth I say to you, The one who receives whomever I may send receives Me; and the one who receives Me receives the One who sent Me.

13:21 Saying these things, Yehoshua was troubled in ruach and He warned and said, Indeed I tell you in truth that one of you will betray Me.

13:22 Then the talmidim looked upon one another, doubting of whom He spoke.

13:23 Now one of his talmidim was reclining at the chest, at the garment hems of Yehoshua, he whom Yehoshua loved exceedingly.

13:24 Then Simon Keipha nods to him to ask whom it might be of whom He spoke.

13:25 Then, as he was reclining on His chest, he said to Yehoshua, “Master, who is it?

13:26 Look, he is here. I will send the piece of bread with dip. And when He had dipped the bread, He gave it to Yehudah, Iscariot, son of Simon.

13:27 When he had taken a mouthful, then The adversary entered into that one. Then Yehoshua said to him, What you do, do quickly.

13:28 But this word, no one of those who were sitting understood why he had said it;

13:29 for some thought, since Yehudah held the moneybag, that Yehoshua was saying to him, Buy what things we have need of for the feast; or that he should give something to the poor ones.

13:30 And then, after he had taken the whole piece, he immediately went out. And it was night.

13:31 Then when he had gone out, Yehoshua said, Now the son of Elohim was glorified, and Elohim was glorified in Him.

13:32 If Elohim was glorified in Him, Elohim also will glorify Him in Himself, and immediately will glorify Him.

13:33 My sons, yet a little while I am with you. You will seek Me; and, as I said to the Yehudim, Where I go, you are not able to come; I also say to you now.

13:34And now I tell you a renewed commandment, that you must love one another in unity as I love you, that you may love one another among yourselves.

13:35 And in this everyone will recognize you, that you are my talmidim, if you have love and goodwill to one another.

13:36 Simon Keipha said to Him, Our Master, where do You go? Yehoshua answered him, Where I go you are not able to follow Me now, but afterwards you shall follow Me.

13:37 Keipha said to Him, Master, why am I not able to follow You now? I will lay down my life for You!

13:38 Yehoshua answered him, Will you lay down your life for Me? Truth I say to you, the rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times.

← Yochanan

14:1 And He said this to his talmidim: Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in Elohim, and believe in Me.

14:2 There are many dwelling places in my Father's house, and if not I would have told you so. For I go to prepare a place for you.

14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again75 and will receive you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.

14:4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.

14:5 Thomas said to Him, Our Master, we do not know where You go, and how can we know the way?

14:6 Yehoshua said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

14:7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you do know Him, and have seen Him.

14:8 And Philip said to Him, Master, give us evidence of the Father, and it will be sufficient.

14:9 Yehoshua said to him, Am I so long a time with you, and you have not known Me, Philip? The one seeing Me has seen the Father76! And how do you say, Give us evidence of the Father?

14:10 Do you not believe that I am as the Father, and the Father is with me? The words which I speak, I do not speak from Myself; but the Father, abiding with Me, He does the words.

14:11 Do you not believe that I am He, and that the Father is in Me? This is only done because of the works, that you may believe.

14:12 I say to you, that he who believes, indeed, the works which I do, he will do. And greater things than those he will do, because I am going to the Father.

14:13 And that which you will ask the Father in my authority, He will do it for you in order that the Father may be exalted in the son.

14:14 If you ask something in My authority, I will do it. (Eph 5:20)

14:15 If you love Me, you will keep My commandments77.

14:16 And I will pray to the Father, and He will give you another Set-apart ruach78, that may remain with you forever,

14:17 the ruach of Truth, whom the world cannot receive because it does not see it nor know it. But you do know it, because it is in you now, and it will be in you.

14:18 I will not leave you as fatherless ones, I will come to you again.

14:19 Yet a little, and you will not see Me anymore, but you will see Me alive, and you will live.

14:20 In that day you will know that I am the same as My Father, and you in Me, and I in you

14:21 He who keeps My commandments, is he who loves Me. And whoever loves Me, will be loved of My Father; and I will love him and will reveal Myself to him.

14:22 Yehudah said to Him (not the Iscariot) Master, What thing is being done, that because of us you will reveal yourself to us but not to the world?

14:23 Yehoshua answered and said to him, If one loves Me and keeps My words, My Father will love him, and to him they will come, and with him they will work.

14:24 The one who does not love Me does not keep My Words. And the Word which you hear is not Mine but of the Father who sent Me.

14:25 These things have I said while I stayed with you;

14:26 but the teacher, the set apart ruach, which my Father will send in My name will teach you everything. And it will remind you of everything that I said to you.

14:27 I leave shalom to you; My shalom I give to you. Not as the world gives I give to you. Do not fear, and do not let your heart be terrified.

14:28 You heard that I said to you, I am going away, and I am coming again to you. If you love me, it is truth that you you will shout for joy because I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.

14:29 And I reveal this to you now, before the work, so that after the work you may believe.

14:30 I shall no longer speak many things with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me.

14:31 But in order that the world may know that I love the Father, He gave His commandment to me – and so I do. Stand up, and let us go from this place.

← Yochanan

15:1 I am the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser.

15:2 And He casts out every branch that does not bear fruit; but every one which does bear fruit in Him, He cleans it in order that it should bear fruit to abundance.79.

15:3 You are already clean because of the words which I have spoken to you.

15:4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch is not able to make fruit of itself, except it abides in the tree, so you are not able to make fruit, except you abide in Me.

15:5 I am the Tree and you are the branches who abide in Me, and I in him. It is he who bears much fruit. For you are not able to do anything without Me.

15:6 Unless one remains in Me, he is cast out as the branch and is dried up; and they gather and throw them into a fire, and they are burned.

15:7 If you abide in me, and keep my words in you, anything, even the thing you will desire and ask, you will obtain for yourselves80.

15:8 In this My Father is glorified and exalted: that you bear much fruit, and make talmidim.

15:9 As the Father loved Me, I also loved you.

15:10 If you keep My commandments you will continue in My love, as I have kept My Father's commandments and continue in His love81.

15:11 And these things which I have said to you must abide, in order that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be complete.

15:12 This is My commandment, that there must be love among you, as I love you.

15:13 Greater love than this has no one, that anyone should lay down his life for those who love Him.

15:14 You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.

15:15 I do not say that you will be servants, for the servant does not know what the Master does; but I say to you, you will be those who love Me. For all the words which I have spoken, my Father has spoken, and I have made them known to you.

15:16 Now, you have not chosen Me but I have chosen you, and have appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide, in order that the matter which you ask in My name, He may give to you.

15:17 These things I command you, that you love one another.

15:18 If the world rejects with you, you must know that it rejected Me first.

15:19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

15:20 Remember the Word which I said to you, A servant is not greater than his Master. If they persecuted Me, they also will persecute you. If they kept My commandments, they will keep yours.

15:21 But all these things they will do to you because of My authority, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

15:22 If I had not come, and had not been speaking to them, they would not have had this sin.

15:23 The one hating Me also hates My Father.

15:24 If I did not do the works among them which no other did, they had no sin. But now they both have seen and also have hated Me and My Father.

15:25 But that may be fulfilled the Word that has been written in their Torah, "They hated Me without a reason." (Psa. 69:4)

15:26 And when the Set-apart ruach comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the ruach of Truth who goes out from the Father, it will witness concerning Me.

15:27 Also you will do witness of Me, for you were with me from the start.

← Yochanan

16:1 I have spoken these things to you so that you should not be harmed.

16:2 For they will drive you out of their assemblies, and a time will come, that every man who comes will try to kill you, and it will seem to him that he is doing service to Yehovah.

16:3 And they will do these things to you because they do not know the Father nor Me.

16:4 But I have spoken these things to you so that when the hour comes you may recall them, that I told you these things. But I did not say these things to you from the beginning because I was with you.

16:5 But now I am going to Him who sent Me. And not one of you asks Me, Where are You going?

16:6 But because I have said these things to you, your hearts are filled with anxiousness.

16:7 However, I say to you that it is necessary for you that I should go, for if I do not go, the Set-apart ruach will not come to you; but if I go I will send it to you.

16:8 And when it comes, it will take and lay hold of the world because of sin and of righteousness, and of judgment

16:9 of iniquity, because they do not believe in Me;

16:10 and of righteousness because I am going to the Father, and from now you will not see Me except from afar;

16:11 because the ruler of this world has been judged.

16:12 I have yet many things to tell you, but you are not able to bear them now.

16:13But when the ruach of truth will come, it will teach you all truth. For it will not speak of it's own heart, only the words which it hears it will speak, and make known to you those words.

16:14 It will glorify Me, for it will receive from Mine and will announce to you.

16:15 All things which the Father has are Mine. For this reason I said that He receives from Mine, and He will make known to you.

16:16 A little while and you do not see Me. And again a little while, and you will see Me, because I am going to the Father.

16:17 Then His talmidim said to one another, What is this which He says to us, A little while, and you do not see me; and again, A little and you will see Me? And, Because I am going to the Father?

16:18 Then they said, What is this that He says, A little while? We do not understand what Yehoshua speaks.

16:19 Then Yehoshua knew that they desired to ask Him. And He said to them, Do you seek answers with one another concerning this, because I said, A little while, and you do not see Me; and again a little and you will see Me?

16:20 Truth, I say to you that you will weep and will lament, but the world will be glad. And you will be anxious, but your anxiousness will be turned into joy.

16:21 The woman who gives birth is anxious because her time has come; but after she has given birth, she does not remember the trembling anymore, because of the gladness and joy which she has that the man was born into the world.

16:22 And truth, so is your anxiousness; but I will see you again, and your heart will be glad, and no man will take away your joy from you.

16:23 And that day you will not ask Me anything; truth I say to you, if you ask the Father anything in my authority,

16:24 you will ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be complete.

16:25 I have spoken these things to you in parables, but then I will openly make known to you from My Father.

16:26 In that day you will ask in my authority, and I do not tell you that I will pray to the Father for you;

16:27 because the Father Himself loves you, as you love me and believe that I went out from Elohim.

16:28 I went out from the of the Father and have come into the world. And again I leave the world and I go to the Father.

16:29 His talmidim said to Him, Look, now You speak openly and you are not speaking any parable to us.

16:30 Now we know that You know all things and have no need that anyone question You. By this we believe that You came forth from Elohim.

16:31 Yehoshua said to them, Do you believe now?

16:32 Look, an hour is coming, and now has come, that you are scattered, each one to his own things, and you will leave Me alone. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.

16:33 I have spoken these things to you that in Me you may have shalom. In the world there will be distress for you, but trust in Me, I have conquered the world.

← Yochanan

17:1 Yehoshua spoke these things and lifted up His eyes to Heaven, and said, Father, the time has come. Glorify Your son, that Your son may also glorify You,

17:2 as You give to Him authority over all flesh, so that to all which You gave to Him, He may give to them everlasting life.

17:3 That they may know You, the Elohim of truth, and Yehoshua Messiah, whom You have sent82.

17:4 I have made You known upon the earth. The work which You gave me to do, I have completed.

17:5 And now Father, glorify Me with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the existence the world was created83.

17:6 I revealed Your name to the men whom You gave to Me out of the world. They were Yours, and You gave them to Me; and they establish My words.

17:7 And now they know that all the words which You gave Me are from You. So You gave them to Me, and they establish Your word.

17:8 For the words which you gave Me, I gave to them, and they received them, and they know in truth that I came out from You, and they believe that You sent Me84.

17:9 I pray concerning them; I do not pray concerning the world, but concerning the ones whom You gave to Me, because they are Yours.

17:10 And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.

17:11 And no longer am I in the world, yet these are in the world; and I come to You. Set apart Father, keep them in Your name, those whom You gave to Me, that they may be one in purpose as We are one in purpose85. (Eph 3:15)

17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your name; I kept those whom You gave to Me, and not one of them was lost, except the son of destruction, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.

17:13 And now I come to You, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have My joy being fulfilled in them.

17:14 I have given them your words; and the world had a report against them.

17:15 I do plead not that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil.

17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17:17 Sanctify them in Your Truth; Your Word is Truth.

17:18 As You have sent Me into the world, I also have sent it into the world,

17:19 And because of them I sanctify Myself, in order that they may be sanctified in truth

17:20 And I do not pray concerning these only, but also concerning those who will believe in Me through their words;

17:21 that all may be echad, as You are in Me Father and I in You, that they also may be echad in Us86, that the world may believe that You sent Me.

17:22 And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be echad, as We are echad (united):

17:23 I in them, and You in Me, that they may be perfected in one; and that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them, even as You loved Me.

17:24 Father, those whom You have given to me, I desire that where I am they might also be with me that they might see my glory that you have given to me because you have loved me from before the foundations of the world.

17:25 Righteous Father, indeed the world did not know You, but I knew You; and these have known that You sent Me.

17:26 And I made known Your name to them87, and will make it known, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.

← Yochanan

18:1 Having said these things, Yehoshua went out with His talmidim across the brook Kidron, where there was a garden into which He and His talmidim entered.

18:2 And Yehudah, the one betraying Him, also knew the place, because Yehoshua many times assembled there with His talmidim.

18:3 So when Yehudah had gathered many people and some servants of the chief priests and Perushim, they came there with lamps and torches and with weapon utensils.

18:4 Then knowing all the things coming upon Him, going forth, Yehoshua said to them, What are you seeking?

18:5 They answered him, Yehoshua the Notsri. Yehoshua said to them, I am he! And Yehudah, the one betraying him, also stood with them.

18:6 Then when he said to them, I am he, they went backwards and fell to the ground88.

18:7 Then again He asked, What are you seeking? And they said, Yehoshua the Notsri.

18:8 Yehoshua answered, I told you that I am he, then if you seek me, allow these to depart,

18:9 (that the Word might be fulfilled which He said, Of those whom You gave to Me, I lost not one of them).

18:10 Then having a sword, Simon Keipha drew it and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his right ear. And the servant's name was Melech.

18:11 Then Yehoshua said to Keipha, Put your sword into the sheath: you do not want the death which the Father sent me to bear!

18:12 So the company brought him, and the servants of the Yehudim took Yehoshua and bound Him.

18:13 And they led Him away first to Channah, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest of that year.

18:14 And Caiaphas is he who gave counsel to the Yehudim that it is necessary that one man should die for the people, so that the people would not follow after Him.

18:15 And Simon Keipha and another talmid followed Yehoshua, and that talmid was known to the high priest and entered together with Yehoshua into the court of the high priest,

18:16 but Keipha stood at the door outside. The other talmid who was known to the high priest went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought Keipha in.

18:17 Then the servant woman, the doorkeeper, said to Keipha, Are you not also of the talmidim of this man? He said to her, I am not of them!

18:18 Now the servants and the under-officers were standing and warming themselves, having made a fire of coals, for it was cold; and Keipha was with them, standing and warming himself.

18:19 Then the high priest questioned Yehoshua about His talmidim and about His teachings.

18:20 Yehoshua answered him, I publicly spoke to the world; I always taught in the house of assembly and in the sanctuary where the Yehudim always come together, and I spoke nothing in secret.

18:21 Why do you question Me? Question those hearing what I spoke to them: look, these know what I said!

18:22 But on His having said these things, one of the attendants standing by struck Yehoshua upon His cheek, saying, Do You answer the high priest this way?

18:23 Yehoshua answered him, If I have spoken something wrong, do witness to me of the wrong! But if I have spoken good, why do you strike Me?

18:24 Then having bound Him, Annas sent Him forth to Caiaphas the high priest.

18:25 And Simon Keipha was standing and warming himself. Then they said to him, Are you not also of His talmidim? He denied and said I am not.

18:26 One of the slaves of the high priest, being a relative of the one whose ear Keipha cut off, said, Did I not see you in the garden with Him?

18:27 Then again Keipha denied, and immediately the rooster crowed.

18:28 Then they led Yehoshua from Caiaphas into the palace. And they did not enter into the palace but in order that they should not become unclean, that they could eat the Pesachh.

18:29 Then Pilate went out to them and said, What witness do you do against this man?

18:30 They answered and said to him, If this One were not an evildoer, then we would not have delivered Him to you.

18:31 Then Pilate said to them, You take Him and judge Him according to your own Torah. Then the Yehudim said to him, It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death,

18:32 (that the Word of Yehoshua which He said might be fulfilled, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die).

18:33 Then Pilate again went into the praetorium and called Yehoshua, and said to Him, Are You the King of the Yisrael?

18:34 Yehoshua answered him, Do you say this from your heart, or did others tell you about Me?

18:35 Pilate answered, am I a Yehudi? Your nation, even the chief priests, delivered You up to me! What did You do?

18:36 Yehoshua answered, My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would have resisted that I might not be delivered up to the Yehudim. But now My kingdom is not from here.

18:37 Then Pilate said to Him, Are You really a king? Yehoshua answered, You say that I am a king. For this purpose I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, that I might witness to the Truth. Every man who is truthful, obeys My words.

18:38 Pilate said to Him, What is truth? And saying this, he again went out to the Yehudim and said to them, I do not find even one crime in Him!

18:39 But there is a common custom to you that I should release one prisoner to you at the Pesach. Then you decide: should I release the King of the Yehudim to you?

18:40 Then all cried out again, saying, Not this One, but Bar-Even89! But Bar-Even was a thief.

← Yochanan

19:1 Then Pilate took Yehoshua and flogged Him.

19:2 And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns and they placed it on His head and they covered Him with garments of purple.

19:3 And they were saying, May Elohim save you, King of the Yehudim. And they were striking Him on His cheeks.

19:4 Then Pilate went outside again and said to them, Look, I bring Him out to you that you may know that I do not find even one crime in Him!

19:5 Then Yehoshua came outside, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple clothing. And he said to them, Look, the man!

19:6 Then when the chief priests and the guards saw Him, they cried out, saying, Crucify! Crucify! Pilate said to them, You take Him and crucify Him, for I do not find one crime in Him!

19:7 Then the Yehudim answered him, According to our law He is guilty of death, because He makes Himself the son of Elohim!

19:8 Then when Pilate heard this word, he was more afraid.

19:9 And he went in again and said to Yehoshua, From where are You? But Yehoshua did not give him an answer.

19:10 So Pilate said to Him, Do You not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to crucify You, and I have authority to release You?

19:11 Yehoshua answered, You would have no authority over me whatsoever, if it had not been given to you from above. Because of this, he who delivered me into your hand, sins an extremely great sin.

19:12 And because of this, Pilate was wanting to release Him, but the Yehudim were crying out, If you release this man you are not a chosen of Caesar. For every one who makes himself a king is an adversary of Caesar.

19:13 Now when Pilate heard this word, he brought Yehoshua outside and sat upon the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement of Stones but in Hebrew, is called Gabbatha.

19:14 And it was the Preparation of the Pesach, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Yehudim, Look, your King!

19:15 But they were crying out, Take Him away! Take Him away! Crucify Him! Crucify Him! Pilate said to them, Should I crucify your king? The chief priests said to him, We have no king but Caesar!

19:16 Therefore, then, he delivered Him up to them, that He might be crucified. And they took Yehoshua and led Him away.

19:17 Carrying His cross beam to a place that was called The Skull, but in Hebrew is called Golgotha

19:18 where they crucified Him, and two others with Him, on this side and on that side, and Yehoshua in the middle.

19:19 And Pilate also wrote a title and put it on the cross beam. And having been written, it was:90

Y EHOSHUA

H'NAZARENE,

V MELEK (and King of)

H YEHUDEIM (the Yehudim)

19:20 Therefore many of the Yehudim read this title, because the place where Yehoshua was crucified was near the city. And it had been written in Hebrew, in Greek and in Latin.

19:21 Then the chief priests of the Yehudim said to Pilate, Do not write, The King of the Yehudim, but that One said, I am King of the Yehudim.

19:22 Pilate answered, What I have written, will be written.

19:23 And when the soldiers crucified Yehoshua, they took His garments and made four pieces for each of the soldiers, but His cloak was without stitch, and worn over that which was upon Him.

19:24 And they said one to another, Let us not tear it but let us cast lots for it to determine whose it will be. And the scripture was fulfilled that said, "They divided My garments among themselves, and for My clothing they cast a lot." The soldiers did these things. (Psa. 22:18)

19:25 And His mother, and His mother's sister Mariam, the wife of Clopas, and Mariam Magdalene stood by the torture stake of Yehoshua.

19:26 Then seeing His mother, and the talmid whom He loved standing by, Yehoshua said to His mother, Woman, look your son!

19:27 Then He said to the talmid, Look, your mother! And from that hour, the talmid took her as his own mother.

19:28 After this, knowing that all things have now been finished that the scripture be completed, Yehoshua said, I have thirst.

19:29 As there was a jar filled with vinegar there, they, when they heard this – took a reed and placed on it a sponge full of vinegar with salt, and placed it at the mouth of Yehoshua. (Psa. 69:2)

19:30 Then when Yehoshua took the vinegar, He said, Look, it is finished. And bowing His head, He delivered up His ruach to His Father.

19:31 Now the evening would be Sabbath, that the bodies not remain on the tree on the Sabbath, for that Sabbath was a set apart day91, the Yehudim asked Pilate that their legs might be broken and they be taken away.

19:32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first, and of the other crucified with Him.

19:33 But on coming to Yehoshua, when they saw He was dead already, they did not break His legs.

19:34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and opened his side for him.

19:35 And the one seeing has borne witness and his witness is true; and that one knows that he speaks truth, that you may believe.

19:36 For these things happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled, "You must not break a bone in it." (Ex. 12:46; Psa. 34:20)

19:37 And again, a another Scripture says, "They shall look at Him whom they have pierced." (Zech. 12:10)

19:38 And after these things, Yoseph from Ramathayim, being a talmid of Yehoshua, but concealed because of fear of the Yehudim, asked Pilate that he might take the body of Yehoshua. And Pilate gave permission.

19:39 Then Yoseph came with Nicodemus, to Yehoshua by night, bearing a mixture of myrrh, about one hundred pounds.

19:40 Then they took the body of Yehoshua and bound it in linen sheets, and anointed the body with good and valuable ointments as the custom of the Yehudim is to bury.

19:41 And there was a garden in the place where He was crucified, and a new tomb in the garden, in which no one yet ever had been placed.

19:42 There, then, because of the Yehudim Preparation day92, because the tomb was near, they put Yehoshua.

← Yochanan

20:1 But on the first day of the week 93, Mariam Magdalene came early to the tomb, darkness yet being on it. And she saw the stone had been removed from the tomb.

20:2 Then she ran and came to Simon Keipha, and to the other talmid whom Yehoshua loved, and said to them, They took away the Master out of the tomb, and we do not know where they put Him.

20:3 Then Keipha and the other talmid went out and came to the tomb.

20:4 Now, they both went in a run, but the talmid who was loved went faster, and came to the tomb first.

20:5 And he bowed his face, and saw the linen sheet placed at the one side, however, he did not enter there.

20:6 Then Simon Keipha came following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linens cloths placed at the other side.

20:7 But the linen sheet which was placed on the head of Yeshua was not placed with the linen sheets, but was at the one side, folded.

20:8 Then that talmid who was loved, who came to the grave first, went in there – and he saw it, and ran away.

20:9 For they did not yet understand the Scripture which says that he must return to life after death.

20:10 Then the talmidim went away again to themselves.

20:11 But Mariam stood outside at the tomb, weeping. Then as she wept, she stooped down into the tomb.

20:12 And she saw two messengers clothed in white who were sitting, one at His pillow and one at the foot of the bed, where the body of Yehoshua Messiah had been placed.

20:13 And they said to her, Woman, why do you weep? She said to them, because they took away my Master, and I do not know where they put Him.

20:14 And saying these things, she turned backward and saw Yehoshua standing, and did not realize that it was Yehoshua.

20:15 Thinking that he was the thief, she said to Him, Sir, if You carried Him away, tell me where You put Him, and I will take Him away.

20:16Yehoshua said to her, Mariam! Turning around, she said to Him, Rabboni!

20:17 Then Yehoshua said to her, Do not touch Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and say to them, I am about to ascend to My Father and your Father, and My Elohim, and your Elohim.

20:18 So Mariam Magdalene went, and made it know to the talmidim saying, I saw Him! And He spoke these things to me.

20:19 Then, on the first day of the week, when it was evening, and the doors of the house were locked where the talmidim were, Yehoshua came and said to them, “Shalom to you.

20:20 And saying this, He showed them His hands and side. Then seeing the Master, the talmidim rejoiced.

20:21 Then Yehoshua said to them again, Shalom to you.

20:22 And saying this, He breathed on them and said to them, Receive the set apart ruach.

20:23 And to who ever you will forgive the iniquities, they will be let forgiven for them; but to whomsoever you will retain the iniquities, they will be retained for them.94.

20:24 But Thomas, one of the talmidim, the one called doubting, was not with them when Yehoshua came.

20:25 Then the other talmidim said to him, We have seen the Master. But he said to them, Unless I see the mark of the nails in His hands, and thrust my finger into the mark of the nails, and thrust my hand into His side, I will not believe!

20:26 And after eight days, His talmidim were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. The door having been locked, Yehoshua came and stood in the midst, and said, Shalom to you.

20:27 Then He said to Thomas, Bring your finger here and see My hands, and bring your hand and thrust into My side, and do not be without belief, but be faithful.

20:28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, my Master and my elohim!

20:29 Yehoshua said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, you have believed. Blessed are the ones not seeing me, and believing.

20:30 Yeshua Messiah did many miracles in the sight of his talmidim which are not written in this scroll.

20:31 But these have been written that you may believe that Yehoshua is the Messiah, the son of Elohim, and in order that you, you may believe them, and you may have life in eternity with Yehoshua Messiah.

← Yochanan

21:1 After these things, Yehoshua revealed Himself again to the talmidim at the Sea of Tiberias. And He revealed Himself this way:

21:2 Simon Keipha, and Thomas, being called doubting, and Nathaniel from Cana of Gelilah, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His talmidim were together.

21:3 Simon Keipha said to them, I am going out to catch fish. They said to him, we also are coming with you. They went and entered into the boat at once. And in that night, they caught nothing.

21:4 Then in the morning, Yehoshua stood on the shore. However, the talmidim did not recognize that it was Yehoshua.

21:5 Then Yehoshua said to them, Children, do you not have anything to eat? They answered Him, No.

21:6 Then he said to them, “Cast the nets further on, and you will find.” When they cast the nets in the water, a great multitude of fish entered into them, so they were not able to pull them out.

21:7 Then that talmid who was loved by Yeshua, said to Keipha, “It is Ha-Adon!” Then Shimon Keipha, when he heard that it was the Master, clothed himself with his clothes, for he was unclothed, and went into the sea.

21:8 But the remainder of the talmidim came with boats, for they were not far from the land, only about two hundred cubits.

21:9 So when they went down to the land, they saw a prepared fire, with burning coals ready, and fish set upon it, and bread.

21:10 Yehoshua said to them, Bring some of the fish which you caught just now.

21:11 So Simon Keipha went up into the boat, and brought the nets to the land, filled with an abundance of fish, hundred and fifty three by number!95. And though being so many, the net was not torn.

21:12 Yehoshua said to them, Come and eat. And no one of the talmidim wanted to ask Him, Who are You? Knowing that it is the Master.

21:13 Then Yehoshua came and took the bread, and gave to them, and in the same way the little fish.

21:14 This now is three times that Yehoshua was revealed to His talmidim, He being raised from the dead.

21:15 Then when they dined, Yehoshua said to Simon Keipha, Simon, son of Yonah, do you love Me more than these? He said to Him, Yes, Master, You know that I love You. He said to him, Feed My lambs!

21:16 Again He says to him, secondly, Simon, son of Yonah, do you love Me? He says to Him, Yes, Master, You know that I love You. He said to him, Shepherd My sheep!

21:17 Thirdly, He said to him, Simon son of Yonah, do you love Me? Keipha was grieved that He said to him a third time, Do you love Me? And he said to Him, Master, You perceive all things, You know that I love You! Yehoshua said to him, Feed My ewes96!

21:18 Truly, truly, I say to you, When you were younger, you girded yourself, and you walked where you desired. But when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will gird you, and will carry you where you do not desire.

21:19 But He said this signifying by what death he would glorify Elohim. And having said this, He told him, Follow Me97.

21:20 But turning, Keipha saw the talmid whom Yehoshua loved98 following them, he who reclined on his chest at the meal.

21:21 Seeing him, Keipha said to Yehoshua, Master, and what of this man?

21:22 Yehoshua said to him, What is it to you if I desire that this man remain until I return? You come and follow me!

21:23 Therefore, the word went out to the brothers that that talmid does not die. Yet Yehoshua did not say to him that he does not die, but, If I desire him to remain until I come, what is that to you99?

21:24 This is the talmid who does witness of these things, and wrote these things, and you know that his witness is true.

21:25 And many more things Yehoshua did, that if all of them should be written, I think, all the world would not be able to contain the scrolls which would be needed in their writing. Complete and sealed. Blessed is He who set me free.
